Would anyone remember the Kavanagh Family formerly of 11 Balnagask Road Torry. I am searching for any old friends from that era, we migrated to Brisbane Australia in April 1965. My father was Daniel (danny) and my ma's name was Violet. My brother is Michael and my sister is Frances. I remember the Essen Family and my cousins were the Riddle Family. Can anyone help? Know the name Creighton Stirton (not sure of spelling) was either a relative or a very good friend.

A leading pharmacologist has criticised degrees in complementary medicine for claiming to offer scientific teaching. David Colquhoun, a pharmacologist at University College London, said many complementary medicines were not based on scientific evidence and should not be studied as part of a BSc degree. "Yet this sort of gobbledegook is being taught in some UK universities as though it were science."
Brian Isbell, head of the University of Westminster's department of complementary therapies defended the BSc description. He said at the university, which offers 14 BSc CAM courses, students have to study disease, carry out research and produce critiques of literature.
Science or gobbledegook? What do you think? Click here to go to our forums page to make your views known.
