Dear Residents of Torry I hope someone can help. Earlier this month I was on holiday in the Grand Kaptan Hotel in Alanya, Turkey and during my stay I met a very nice couple from Torry and their young daughter. Unfortunately our holidays only overlapped by a few days and I do not know their surname. The couple were Michael and Jackie. He worked in the hotel industry in Northern Scotland (ie travelling around Sutherland and Caithness) and was 58, Jackie worked in IT/Admin, was 44, very petite and of mixed race. Their daughter, Naomi is 11 with dark brown hair and is soon to go to Torry Academy. If I recall correctly I am also aware that they have 3 other adult children and 3 cats and live in a 3-bedroom ground floor apartment in Torry near many shops and food outlets. On the last night of my holiday I joined them at the "Beach Party". They kindly bought me many drinks and although they were All Inclusive have probably since found out that those 'bought' after midnight were not free. On my last morning I said my goodbyes and presented Naomi with a small gift of Turkish Delight, her reaction indicated that Turkish Delight was not her favourite. I then checked out of the hotel and intended to dash to the shops to get them all a more worthwhile present as a thank you. Unfortunately the check out took so long I had no time and my coach to the airport turned up at 12.30pm prompt and before I could make contact with them again. I would love to be able to make contact with them again, but have had little success in tracking them down. Hopefully this local website can help.
