20-12-2007 10:05:16 Alert
I've lived in Torry for over 4 years now and most of the time it's been fine. What spoils it is some of the people. The ones that:

a) let their dogs mess all over the streets and pavements.
b) habitually damage cars.
c) act violently towards others.
d) and I suppose the worst thing is the amount of drugs / addicts there is and all that goes with it.

It's such a shame as Torry could be a really nice area.

Your dead right,Torry could be so nice if there weren't so many bad eggs.My area used to be so quiet, where the kids could play outside in the summer and you knew they were safe, but since one house in particular became a doss house for a gang of 14-18 year olds the place has gone right down hill. There is about 30 of them every weekend hanging around outside and most week nights aswell smashing bottles, breaking windows, damaging cars, screaming abuse, taking drugs. Its an absolute disgrace. What I wonder is what do their parents think they are up to?Its a common phrase in Torry that I hear all the time"It wasn't my kids"I find it disgusting.I feel it is a major issue that needs addressed. The youth of Torry should be taught a bit of respect and learn how to have pride in their community instead of turning it into a hell hole and proving all the sceptics who call it "Tinky Torry" or call us "Torry hacks" right, but to do this we need to educate the parents or grandparents as the case may be to find out what the kids are up to and if they are up to no good punish them for it and teach them right from wrong because I'm afraid if we don't do something soon our community will be run right into the ground and with all the decent people to afraid to speak out and stand up for what they think is right.:(:mad:
